DEATH TO THE ANCIENT MAN

I’ve been seeing the number 44 over, and over again for the past few days. During a movie the number 44 appeared on doors and tables. This morning I opened my bible reading plan, and it was on day 44. My husband sent me a photo of a page from his current book, and it was page 44!

The Lord continued to repeat this number to me and led me to study the meaning and significance of the number 44 in the bible.

44 MEANING IN THE BIBLE:
Death, Crucifixion.

For over 4 weeks the Lord has been talking to me over, and over again about this season of DYING to self, and DYING to an old way to prepare us for awakening to a new abundant life in Him.

HERE ARE SOME ACCOUNTS TO THE NUMBER 44 FOUND IN THE BIBLE

Part of the meaning of the number “44” comes from the final part of Jesus’ earthly ministry (HIS DEATH). This last part begins on the day he was CRUCIFIED, which is Wednesday, April 5 in 30 A.D. (Nisan 14 in the Hebrew year 3790). It ends on the day he gives final instructions and ascends to God’s right hand from the Mount of Olives (Acts 1:4 – 12). This momentous day is Thursday, May 18 (Iyar 27). The period between his CRUCIFIXION and his ascension is “44”days.

Herod Agrippa I, grandson of Herod the Great, rules over Galilee and Perea as Roman tetrarch starting in 39 A.D. Two years later, he is declared king of Judea. In “44” he decides to have James, one of the original twelve disciples and brother of John, put to DEATH (Acts 12:1 – 2). James is the first apostle, called and ordained personally by Christ, to DIE for the faith.

Herod, witnessing how much it pleased the Jews to persecute Christians, arrests Peter. An angel, however, miraculously frees Peter from prison. Later in “44”Herod gives a speech to ambassadors from Tyre and Sidon. His oration is lauded, with the crowd shouting that he spoke like God. Failing to reject the praise and give the true God glory, Herod was put to DEATH by the angel of the Lord who allows him to be eaten by worms and perish (Acts 12:20 – 23).

Jesse, the name of King David’s father, is recorded in “44” verses for 47 times total in the KJV. In the New Testament, he is mentioned in Matthew 1:5 – 6, Luke 3:32, Acts 13:22 and Romans 15:12. Jesse produced a total number of seven sons (David was the youngest) and two daughters (1Samuel 17:12 – 13, 1 Chronicles 2:13 – 16). His name is referenced in prophecies that predict Jesus the Messiah would come someday, conquering DEATH and ultimately rule over the world (Isaiah 11:1, 10, Romans 15:12).

Both King Jehoram and King Jotham of Judah DIED at the age of “44” Jehoram assumed the throne at age 32 and ruled for eight years (853 to 841 B.C.). Jotham began to reign at age twenty-five, ruled for 15 years and was overthrown. He was allowed to live by King Ahaz, who deposed him, until he DIED at the age of “44”

A TIME TO DIE

The Lord continues to highlight the season many have endured, and that’s a long season of darkness and death. Death to what once was, death to an old life style, death to self, and death to the ancient man.

I want to encourage many of you today, and remind you of the importance of the DYING PROCESS. Jesus had to die to step into His new body and receive His great reward. He needed to pass the many tests and He knew everything was a stake.

A TIME OF EXPOSING

What is the Lord uprooting in you in this season so you can CUT IT OFF AT THE ROOT so it can never come back to life again? What is He exposing in your life that you thought was long dead and buried? Remember; He is a good father and only brings things to the surface in your life so that you can find healing and deliverance. He loves you too much to leave those rotten roots alone in your life, because they cause you only hinderance and stop you fully walking out your destiny in Him on earth.

A TIME TO SEARCH YOUR HEART

Search out the Lords heart today and give Him those places in your life that you thought were dealt with. Call out to Him and ask Him what He is requiring of you in this season of moving from death to the new abundant life He has prepared for you.

A TIME TO PUT TO DEATH YOUR SELF-LIFE

“Keep in mind that we who belong to Jesus Christ have already experienced crucifixion. For everything connected with the SELF-LIFE WAS PUT TO DEATH on the cross and crucified with Messiah.” Galatians‬ ‭5:24‬ ‭TPT‬‬
