On my journey home from North Queensland, the Lord spoke to me so clearly about those who choose the reward of God’s Kingdom over the temporary rewards of this world.
“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.” (Hebrews 11:24–26)
Moses willingly laid down status, comfort, influence, and the luxuries of Egypt because he knew the call of God was worth infinitely more. He understood that his assignment was not to build the Egyptian empire but to partner with God in bringing His people into freedom. His eyes were fixed on an eternal reward, not temporary success.
I believe the Lord is extending that same invitation right now—Recently, a well-known TikTok tarot reader publicly announced that she was walking away from tarot after declaring, “Jesus Christ has saved my life.” She deleted years of content, closed her tarot business, and, according to public reports, lost tens of thousands of followers almost immediately. Yet she still chose obedience over popularity, and calling over comfort.
Whether someone leaves an occupation, a title, a lifestyle, or a belief system, when Jesus calls, the cost is real—but so is the reward. God often asks us to lay down what seems secure so that we can walk in the purpose for which we were created.
He is calling many to step out of positions, titles, comfort, worldly systems, and even religious traditions that have kept them from walking in the fullness of their true identity in Christ. God has already given every person a measure of faith—enough to respond to His voice and trust that His plans are far greater than anything this world could ever offer. (Romans 12:3; Jeremiah 29:11)
Ask the Lord today, “what are You inviting me to leave behind so that I can fully embrace what You have prepared for me?”
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18–19)
If I can be certain about anything it would be this— You will not regret surrendering everything to follow the purposes of God. Nothing compares to living in the centre of His will. The temporary rewards of this world will fade, but what is done in obedience to Christ carries eternal significance.
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)
