For many weeks now, I have felt an invitation from the Lord to be watchful over our hearts by remaining in a place of repentance. And today, the Lord reminded me that we are entering the time of the Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) — a time of humility and repentance.

Repentance meaning:  

Biblical repentance means turning away from sin and turning your heart back to God with humility, surrender, and a sincere desire to please Him and walk in His ways.

As the Feast of Trumpets approaches this month, may we take a moment to slow down, become still before God, and examine our hearts.

The sound of the trumpet is a call to wake up, repent, return to our first love, and prepare our hearts before Him. It reminds us that this is not simply a time to observe a feast, but an opportunity to draw closer to the Lord with hearts of purity and humility.

Let us come before Him in humble surrender, asking Him to search our hearts and reveal anything that has taken us away from making Him the main thing.

Let us lay down pride, unforgiveness, distractions, and anything we have been holding onto that He is asking us to surrender.

“Search me [thoroughly], O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there is any wicked or hurtful way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23–24
